Overview
PROFIBUS is standardised to IEC 61158 giving more interoperability of components from different manufactures. PROFIBUS cables are especially made for process automation (PA). The modular peripheral construction (DP: decentralised periphery) of the bus system simplifies installation and maintenance. Also available with a galvanised copper wire braid for mechanical strength and resistance to interference.

Construction

Conductor: Stranded copper conductor
Insulation: Polyethylene (PE)
Separator: Polyester Tape (PET)
Filler: Halogen free Compound
Screen: Aluminium foil polyester tape wrapped by a galvanised copper wire braid
Inner sheath: LSZH / PVC - refer to Products
Armour: Galvanised Copper Wire Braid, Steel Wire Armour only on PROFIBUSDPSWA
Outer Sheath: LSZH / PVC - refer to Products

Characteristics

Voltage Rating: 300V (communication cable – not for power applications)
Temperature Rating: Fixed: -40°C to +80°C
Minimum Bending Radius: As per cable manufacturer datasheet

Should not be installed at temperatures below 0°C
